Every word hiding in your letters
Type a set of letters into the box above and we'll list every valid word you can spell with them. You don't have to use all of them: give us STARE and you'll get the five-letter anagrams like TEARS and RATES, plus the shorter words inside them, such as ART, EAT, SEA and RAT. Each letter is used at most as many times as you typed it.
That makes it handy well beyond Scrabble. It works for anagram puzzles, letter-wheel games, crossword checks, or just settling an argument about whether a word exists.
How to read the results
- Longest words first. Results are grouped by length, and each group is in alphabetical order.
- Points next to every word. That's the word's base Scrabble score, before any premium squares.
- Click a word to see its definition and anagrams, and whether it's valid in Words With Friends.
Got a blank tile, or a letter you're unsure of?
Type ? or _ for each wildcard. For example, stare? finds every word you can make from S, T, A, R, E plus any one letter. Words that needed the wildcard are marked, so you can tell them apart from words your own letters spell outright.
Which words count
Results come from the NASPA Word List 2023, the official Scrabble dictionary in North America. Proper nouns, abbreviations and hyphenated words aren't on it, so they won't show up here. If you're playing Words With Friends, use the Words With Friends Cheat instead, since that game's word list is slightly different.
