From New Latin agalactia, from Ancient Greek ἀγαλακτία (agalaktía, “lack of milk”), from ἀγάλακτος (agálaktos) + -ῐ́ᾱ (-ĭ́ā), from ᾰ̓- (ă-, “not; without”) + γᾰ́λᾰ, γᾰ́λᾰκτος (gắlă, gắlăktos, “milk”).
